It is important to note that natural sea pearls are dearer than the cultured or synthetic man made pearls.

The price of a pearl can vary with many factors including weight, shape, color, luster, surface quality, and origin. Flawless pearls or those with few blemishes or imperfections on their surface are generally more expensive than others. The South Sea pearl is generally a higher quality pearl and can be more expensive.
